SCHC Reports Highest Weekly Covid Total

On Jan. 21, the Shannon County Health Center reported they had received 92 new Covid-19 cases in the past week, ranging in age from a minor to age 91. “ We currently have 65 active cases with one in the hospital,” the report stated. “This is the highest number of cases we have received in one week since the pandemic began. The virus is widespread and we ask everyone to take precautions when in public, such as social distancing and wearing a mask when in close contact with others.” The report added, “Don’t forget that you must get a booster shot if has been at least 5 months since your 2nd Moderna or Pfiizer shot to be considered fully vaccinated. As of Jan. 1, all Shannon County Health Center services, including COVID-19 testing, immunizations and lab draws are by appointment only. Anyone in need of these services can call (573) 226-3914 to schedule an appointment. Appointments do not apply for scheduled COVID-19 and Flu Vaccination clinics.
