Marie Akers Richardson
October 24, 2024
Marie Akers Richardson passed to her eternal home in heaven Sunday morning, September 29, 2024 from her earthly home in Cabool, Missouri. She was at peace and looking forward to seeing her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served her whole life after being born again as a teenager.
Marie was born to Walter and Arlie Akers on January 22, 1934 on Little Shawnee near Eminence, Missouri. She was married to Fred Richardson on December 23, 1955 and their marriage was a testimony to love and commitment, lasting until Fred’s death in December of 2018. Together they had three children, Lynda Matthews (Mike), Beth Cook (Tom), and Brian (Lana). Marie is survived by her children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her three brothers and their wives, Allen (Val) Akers, Tom (Kaye) Akers, and Jim (Julie) Akers.
Her life was characterized by loving and giving. Her home was always open to those in need and her joy was in serving others. She was not given to complaining or procrastination, but rather practiced being content, thankful and getting things done. She valued people more than possessions and has left a wonderful and rich Christian legacy to her family. She finished well!! We will miss her, but rejoice knowing it is not “goodbye” for all who have received Jesus as their Lord and savior, but rather, “see you soon”. Some of her last words were, “ I’ll be watching for you”
