Virgina (Chilton) Vaughn

Virginia K. (Chilton) Vaughn was born December 31, 1948 at St. Louis, Missouri to Charlie Chilton and Sadie (Ledgerwood) Chilton Dodson. She passed away April 25, 2025 at SSM St. Joseph West in Lake St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 76.
She was united in marriage on October 19, 1968 to Leroy Atwood Vaughn Jr. To their union 3 children were born, Sherry, Pamela and Leroy.
Virginia grew up in Shannon County and attended school in Eminence. After she and Leroy were married they moved to Winfield. She worked at a convenience store, factory and grocery store. She and Leroy moved back to Shannon County in 2000 and she retired in 2009.
She was a member of the Summersville Christian Church and volunteered at the Summersville Senior Center until early 2023.
Virginia loved spending time with her grandkids and greatgrandkids. She also loved to sew, fish and hunt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Chilton and Sadie Chilton Dodson; her husband, Leroy A. Vaughn Jr.; her son, Leroy H. Vaughn; a brother, Bill Chilton; great-granddaughter Paislee Kay Quinn Pineiro; son-in-law Eddie Joe Smith; and mother-in-law Laura Vaughn.
Virginia is survived by her daughters, Sherry Smith, and Pamela Piechoinski and husband Jesse; grandkids, Andrew, CJ and Alesya, Hayden and Taylor, Jessica and Antonio, Savannah and Nate, Leighton and Becca; great-grandkids, Amelia, Kristin, Hazel, Lenny, Remi Jo, Noah and Raelynn (on the way); her sister, Linda Marr and partner John and brothersin-law, Bill Vaughn and Joan, Jim Vaughn and Rose and Alan Vaughn and Anita. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held at 12:00 PM, Monday, April 28, 2025 at Bradford Funeral Home with Pastor Kelvin Fine officiating. Interment was in the Flatwoods Cemetery. Services were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home and online condolences may be left at www.bradfordfuneralhome.net
