Goldie Maxine Conner

Goldie Maxine Conner, daughter of the late George and Margaret Louise (Birlew) Bettis, was born on May 12, 1946, in Bardley, Missouri. She gained her wings on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. She had attained the age of 78 years 11 months and 22 days. 

Goldie never met a stranger and gained many friends during her life’s journey. She worked until the day she left the earth. She enjoyed working at the Cube so she could keep up on all the happenings in Winona. 

Goldie was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Eminence, MO. She loved her church and listening to Brother Jones preach every Sunday. She was baptized in 2004 with her daughter, Alberta, and granddaughter, Emily. 

She enjoyed her family more than anything. She was happiest spending time with her children, grandbabies, brothers, sister, and many nieces and nephews. 

Survivors include her two daughters, Tammy (Bruce) Thomas of Eminence, MO, and Alberta Pummill of Summersville, MO; two brothers, Dannie Bettis of Lockwood, MO, and Roy (Cathy) Bettis of Winona, MO; and one sister, Starla (Eugene) French of Birch Tree, MO. The true joys of her life were her grandchildren, Emily Pummill (James Jordan) of Ellington, MO, Kala Thomas and Kenny Thomas of Eminence, MO, and Gabe Pummill of Summersville, MO; three great-grandchildren, Wesson,Randy, and Rozalie Thomas. Goldie had two step-grandchildren, James and Letty. 

Goldie was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Conner; parents, George and Margaret Bettis; two sisters, Margie Neal and Kathy Linn Bettis; one brother, Ronnie Bettis; and son-in-law, Sammy Pummill. 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri, with Bro. Darrell Jones officiating. Visitation was held prior to the service from 10-11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Winona, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
