Betty Jane Mooney Pitts was born on July 5, 1946, on Blair’s Creek, Missouri, the beloved daughter of Walter and Daisy Ferguson Mooney. She peacefully went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2025, at the home of her daughter, Sherrie Keeling.
She had two children, Sherrie Keeling and Frank Pitts. She also had a daughter by heart, Jeri Gail Carr.
She was preceded in death by her son, Frank; her great-grandson, James Baker; her parents, Walter and Daisy Mooney; seven brothers, Harold, Jim, Tom, Kenny, Bob, Doyle, and Gene; and four sisters, Hazel, Glenda, Beulah, and Ruth.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherrie (Jerald) Keeling; her daughter by heart, Jeri Gail Carr; her daughter-in-law, Heather Pitts; her sister, Rose Patterson; and sisters-in-law, Valerie Mooney, Carol Mooney, and Hazel Mooney. She leaves behind six grandchildren, Jonathon (Kerri) Keeling, Jason (Kylee) Keeling, Dalton Pitts, Trey Smith, Alyssa Carr, and Erin Pitts; and eight greatgrandchildren, Justin Baker, Kolter Carr, Levi Keeling, Kastin Cleaver, Kylin Cleaver, Gracie Keeling, Brylee Keeling, and Violet Smith.
Betty will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her gentle strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched, by blood and by heart.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Yarber Mortuary, Eminence, Missouri. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9-11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Blairs Creek Cemetery, Eminence. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
