Roy Eugene Copeland

Roy Eugene Copeland, age 85, of Eminence, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on August 26, 1939, in Winona, Missouri, to the late Francis and Ruth (Meade) Copeland. 

He graduated from Eminence High School. He attended Southwest Missouri State University, majoring in music. Mr. Copeland retired from the Ford Motor Company as the Financial Secretary for the UAW. He then moved from St. Louis back to Eminence, Missouri. He loved playing music, doing anything outdoors, watching his St. Louis Cardinals, Mizzou Tigers, and spending time with his beloved family and friends. 

Roy “Gene” is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Grace Marie Copeland (Barrett); son, Mark Francis Copeland (Debbie) of Melissa, Texas; daughter, Cynthia Rebecca Copeland of Greeneville, Illinois; grandson, Ryan Anthony Copeland of Los Angeles, California; Sister, Margaret Jones of Van Buren, Missouri and his beloved dog, Ninja; along with other family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his son, Richard Allen Copeland; and grandson, Joshua Michael Copeland. Memorial services and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at United Methodist Church in Eminence, Missouri, with Bro. Allen Stringer officiating, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Eminence.
