Jim Jenkins
January 15, 2026
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jim Jenkins. He was born on September 29, 1934, to Fred and Vera Jenkins, and he left us on December 30, 2025.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Vera Jenkins; wife, Kay; brother, John; and sisters, Mary Lou (Hires) and JoAnne (Underhill).
Jim leaves behind his three daughters, Cindy Jenkins McKean of Billings, MO, Lori Black (Scott) of St. Peters, MO, and Cheri Young (Tony) of Minot, ND; grandchildren, Meagen, James Hayden, Emily, Graham, Holden, and Isabella; great-grandchildren, Colton and Nathan; brother, Billy; sister Julie; and last but not least, his Scotty companion, Honey.
Jim began his career at Smith Flooring in 1963. During his time at the mill, Jim walked miles and miles of property lines, without a GPS, taking care of logging crews, and planted thousands upon thousands of trees. If you notice a grove of tall Pines, Jim probably planted them! He also joined the Mountain View Volunteer Fire Department, and it was his honor to assist those in need.
In his later years, Jim would be found in his yard planting flowers, driving around town with his Scotty companions, or just sitting on the back deck watching the birds and squirrels.
He will be missed terribly by his family.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri, with Meagen Jenkins, Scott Black, and Larry Price officiating.
Visitation was held prior to the service from 1-3:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment was in Center Hill Cemetery, Mountain View. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Center Hill Cemetery Fund at Simmons Bank in Mountain Vi e w. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com
