Dakota Ryley William Rector

March 26, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dakota Ryley William Rector, who departed this life on March 15, 2026.

Dakota was born on November 25, 2007, in West Plains, Missouri, to Roger Rector and Victoria Bueker. He was a remarkable young man who touched the lives of many with his kind spirit and infectious energy.

Dakota is survived by his devoted parents, Roger Rector and Victoria Bueker, and three siblings, Austin Womack, Courtny Womack, and Ian Rector. He will also be dearly missed by his eight nieces and nephews, alongside a multitude of family members and friends who cherished him deeply. Dakota was preceded in Heaven by his beloved grandparents, Darrell and June Rector, and uncles, Rooster and Allen Rector.

Dakota, known to his mom as Squishy, had a bright personality characterized by charm and mischief. Known for his compassionate heart, he frequently took in strays—whether they were ducklings, chicks, baby squirrels, or puppies— demonstrating his nurturing nature. Dakota was never one to remain idle; he could always be found working on something, going fishing, or cooking up something disgusting that he insisted was “pretty good.” He always wanted to show you his new music he loved and tell you a joke or story to make you laugh. His genuine character and unwavering ability to bring smiles to others will forever be remembered. There was nobody like him, and the world was better because he was in it.

Dakota’s faith was an integral part of his life, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior, being baptized at the Winona Christian Church on November 7, 2021. If you want to see Dakota again someday, you must ask God to come into your heart and forgive you of your sins. He’ll be waiting for us in Heaven. And what a reunion it will be.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on March 20, 2026, at the Winona R-3 School, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
