David Ray Couch

David Raye Couch, 84. of Winona, Missouri, was born in Stella, Missouri to Raymond Burley and Colista Irene (Kelley) Couch on January 25, 1938. David lived with Dave and Debby Hannigan for almost three years, beloved by both, and passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Riverways Manor in Van Buren, MO, during a short stay. David is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Colista Couch; and one son, John Couch. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Hannigan, of Winona, Missouri and Dianna Turner, of Butte, Montana; granddaughter, Michele Conner; and two great-granddaughters, also from Butte, Montana; and several cousins, from Joplin, Missouri. David participated in parade competition all over South California. He was invited to and rode in the Pasadena Rose Parade. He wore a handmade Native American costume made by his wife Ruth Couch. He was awarded coveted Peace Pipe Award and adopted into the Sioux tribe in 1972. Other interests included, HAM Radio and amateur television from his home in Nuevo, California. David was also talented in the art of watercolor painting. After graduating Huntington Beach High School in 1956, David became an electrician. His hobbies were horses, cars, and motorcycles. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Cremation services were under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Winona, Missouri.
